Welcome to Saginaw ISD Head Start/EHS/GSRP

If you’re looking for quality education with personal service, you’ve come to the right place. At Saginaw ISD Head Start we’ll promote your child's school readiness by enhancing their social and cognitive development through the provision of education, health, nutrition, social and other services. Head Start has been in operation for Saginaw County since 1967.

Our latest edition is Saginaw ISD Early Head Start (EHS) which began services in 2010. Early Head Start is a program designed to provide high-quality child and family development services to low-income pregnant women and families with infants and toddlers.

The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is Michigan’s state-funded preschool program for four-year old children who meet certain factors contributing to educational risk and income criteria determined by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE). Since 2006 we have been provided the opportunity to offer full day services through blended state funded GSRP and Head Start.

Each program is designed to give your child a Head Start in life.
